Thank you for your interest in studying rope bondage with us! We will review your application as soon as possible and be in touch with any follow-up questions. Please monitor the email address you provided. We will also send decisions about all applications to that email shortly after the application deadline.

You may also want to pencil in the dates and times for the classes as well as the initial Meet & Greet. As a reminder, they are:

  • Meet & Greet: January 21st 2023 (OPTIONAL) – The Meet & Greet is a chance for course participants to get to know each other and the space they will be working in before classes begin in a casual, social setting. We’ve found this has really helped people to feel more comfortable and connected during and between classes. This also provides a chance for participants across class levels to get to know each other and share their perspectives and tips.
  • Class Dates:
    • Class 1: Saturday, January 28th
    • Class 2: Saturday, February 11th
    • Class 3: Saturday, February 25th
    • Class 4: Saturday, March 11th
    • Class 5: Saturday, March 25th
    • Class 6: Saturday, April 8th
  • Class Times:
    • Rope 201 (Foundations Part 1): 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

In addition to the initial application, we also ask you to provide at least two references. The information below provides more details. However, if you have any questions or concerns about this step, please contact us.

PLEASE REVIEW THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY! Failure to complete this step will likely mean that we will not be able to accept you for the next round of classes.

Why are you requesting references?

We request references for three main reasons:

  1. We will be holding these events at a private residence. Also, during these classes, people often reveal personal information about themselves. Therefore, we want to make sure the people we’re inviting are trustworthy and will respect the privacy of others.
  2. Participants in these classes often work with each other and rely on the assistance of others. Therefore, we want to make sure the people we’re inviting have strong consent practices and will respect other members.
  3. These classes build on each other, cover a good amount of material, and rely on participants to prepare for each class, be on time, and put in their best effort. Therefore, we want to make sure the people we’re inviting are reliable and will do their best to contribute to the course.

Does everyone need references?

If you have taken a Foundations series course with us in the past, then you do not need to provide references.

If we have worked closely with you one-on-one in a private setting before, then you likely don’t need a reference. However, if our only interactions have been in group settings, it’s best to send references.

If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us and ask. Please don’t be offended if we do ask for references. We have to also consider other participants in the courses, and we want to make sure we’ve done our due diligence with the people we invite.

What do I need to do?

We ask for you to have at least 2 (two) references complete a reference form.

Send the link below to people who are willing to provide a reference for you and ask them to complete the form as soon as possible (and definitely before the application deadline):

ROPESTUDY.COM/REFERENCE

These should be people who can speak to your character, trustworthiness, consent practices, and/or dedication to learning. References do not need to be able to speak to your rope experience, though that can be helpful if you plan to take Rope 301 or 401 with us. However, references should be people who are aware of your interest in rope.

If you have any concerns about supplying references, please contact us to explain.
