- If you haven’t already, please study the content available in Rope 101. Pay special attention to:
- Rope Selection & Care if you’re still trying to decide what rope to get and for information about taking care of the rope you have
- Basics for Bottoms (tops should read this, too)
- Reducing Risk … we will spend more time on nerves and related issues as we consider various forms, but reviewing this information regularly is good advice
- Readings:
- Balance & Tying Well – this is the essence of our philosophy / approach to tying
- Rope as Practice
- Rope Kits for Floor Work – just for reference
- Introduction to Forms & Harnesses
- Responsible Progression in Rope
- Working Together in Rope – this is the essence of our philosophy / approach to tying together
- Practice
- Exercise: Chest Wrap – only work on the forward tension version (first version). Don’t attempt the reverse-tension version yet.
- Tying: Single-Columns – focus on square knot (collapsible), granny knot (collapsible), and somerville bowline (non-collapsible)
